Mitai Hangi & Concert / Rainbow Springs COMBO

A Sacred Place, A Spiritual Place…..Experience the world of Mitai. This is an up close and personal Maori cultural experience. Meet with the people of the land and enjoy an evening like no other. Your journey begins with a complimentary transfer to the village from your accommodation.

 

Once at the village you will engage in a range of activities. For example, you will experience a formal welcoming, traditional dances, you can wander around the reconstructed village, view the Sacred Freshwater Springs, experience ancient Maori customs and traditions, learn Maori rituals, beliefs and protocols, and enjoy a traditionally cooked Maori feast (a hangi).

 

But that’s not all... you can also take a guided bush walk to the famous Rainbow/Fairy Springs and along the way you will come across glow worms. This is an interactive, fun and educational experience.

Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland

Wai-O-Tapu (Sacred Waters) is New Zealand’s most colourful and diverse volcanic area. The walks through the park take visitors on a journey through stunning geothermal activity where they can absorb unique features such as naturally coloured hot and cold pools, the world famous Champagne Pool which occupies a 65 metre wide explosion crater, bubbling mud (the largest boiling mud pools in NZ), steaming ground, expansive vistas, huge volcanic craters and sinter terrace formations. The natural bush setting adds another dimension to the experience, as does the Lady Knox Geyser which erupts daily at 10.15am (reaching heights of up to 20 metres).

Rotorua Museum of Art and History

Discover the essence of Rotorua: its people, culture and volcanic landscape. The museum is located in the world famous Bath House building, an architectural icon in itself. You can learn about the great stories which have shaped the past and present of this unique region, for example learn about the spiritual world of the Arawa people and trace the story of the devastating 1886 eruption of Mt Tarawera.

Polynesian Spa

The Polynesian Spa is an historical hot mineral spring spa situated just five minutes walk from Rotorua’s central business district. The Polynesian Spa has been voted as one of the top ten spas in the world by Conde Nast Traveller.
