The first phase of the Marae
project will involve the
transport in of fill (soil) to raise the area, where the Marae complex is
to be built, by 2-3 feet. We will in the near future be calling a Board of
Directors and a Marae Committee meeting to get ourselves organized and
schedule procedures for this labour of love. Stay tuned for more
information by checking the Marae Panui (Notice Board) on this web page.
All detailed information and assignments will be posted at this site as
well as by email. So be sure to get your email list on the Marae
database so you will receive periodic panui (news). We have also
provided a resource
questionnaire to help us schedule future work projects:

CCNZ
ALUMNI, TEACHERS & ADMIN.
|
YOU are hereby put on notice to
start your preparations to attend the 50th CCNZ school reunion scheduled
for APRIL 24-28, 2008. From past experiences at these reunions, it is
going to a HUMDINGER 5 days of PARTY and good times and with the school
scheduled to be closed year end 2009, there is going to be a large
gathering to say the least. We will put together
GROUP fares from the USA, which if its anything like last time, were excellent
prices. Login to the CCNZ Alumni Association web site CCNZAA web page
, enter all the
info., register and check out some ole mates & or flames from the good ole school: OLD
FRIENDS . This is planned to be the last of the
big reunions (1958 - Present), following this one it is hoped to schedule 10
year reunions (1958-1968 etc), however with the uncertainty of the College
facilities, we'll have to wait and see about future Reunions etc. There is just too many people for the
college facilities to handle at one time. The last two reunions hosted between
2000-2500 people. It will be great to get together again, so
start planning, saving your pennies getting into shape (again) and dieting
(again) for this
hui nui. Be sure to start now booking accommodations, transport etc
etc, things will be hard come by if left too late.

Annually The New Zealand American Society
(NZAS) combined with Ngati Hiona sponsors three HUI (gatherings). Each
year on January 1st, July 24 and the 1st Monday in September,
Labor day (US). These hui are mainly for socializing, having fun and
just enjoying each others company. If you and your family plans happen to bring you
through Salt Lake City on any of those mentioned days, feel free to
come and introduce yourselves and join in the festivities and fun we
Polynesians and friends enjoy.
